Our 22 February Meeting was held at our new venue, Arreton Village Hall in Arreton. The Branch’s Annual Photographic Competition was postponed from January was held and judged by Ian Pratt LRPS. The winner of the Phil Fricker cup [for the second year in succession] was Andrew Collins with his photo of a starboard quarter of the PS Waverley under way in The Solent.
Runner up was Chris Bancroft who won the Eric Brett Cup with his action shot of a Piraeus Pilot boat at speed.
With time left Ian showed a Quiz of various unusual features of the Island, which included images of the remains of the PS Ryde at Island Harbour and a large 4-bladed propeller at the Steamer inn at Shanklin.
