In brief, you should know the following about us: our organisation was established in 1946 and has been responsible for providing outstanding member services ever since. Our specialty is in the area providing timely and historical information on ships world-wide and shipping company histories. We have published dozens of books and monographs on various shipping companies. We have an extensive photograph collection, and we provide members with research advice. There are many, many divisions within the Society, each devoted to a particular aspect of shipping, such as our Naval division, or our Small Craft division. In addition, those members who have the opportunity of joining a local branch have the added benefit of friendship which evolves from monthly meetings.
