World Ship Society - Home - Chatham Library Catalogue

The following table includes an up-to-date version of the Library catalogue for our Chatham Library.   Further information can be obtained by writing to the Librarians, Alan and Sheila Watt,  at chatham.librarian@worldshipsociety.org

For more details about the Libary itself, click on the left-hand subject marked "Chatham".  The Library is located within the Chatham Historic Dockyard and is open to members and others when volunteers are present.  Details of available viewing times can be found in the section marked "Chatham".

TITLE                        AUTHOR      PUBLISHER    DATE    TYPE    NATION

Hints for searching the catalogue.

  • The catalogue can be sorted by either Author, Title or Publisher - by clicking within the grey line at the top of the catalogue. (Due to a computer glitch, the catalogue headers, which have been reproduced above, are not showing clearly -- but they are there!)
  • When using the "Search" feature, enter as little as possible.  For example, if you are looking for a book titled "A History of HMS Collingwood", enter just "Collingwood".  If the search does not return the book you are looking for, use a different key word, such as "history of".
  • If you should wish to print out a copy of the catalogue, you can do so, by right-clicking once inside the catalogue, and choosing the option "Export to Microsoft Excel".
  • The catalogue is updated only when a new database is created by the volunteer Librarians at Chatham, so some items may not show.  Despite this there are nearly 8,000 books listed at the present time.   [02.2009]

For further information on the Chatham Library, contact the Librarians at chatham.librarian@worldshipsociety.org
